Fey Lands

Somewhere amidst the seas of Zoltea there is a continent, hidden by powerful spells of concealment and ruled by fey creatures, known as the Fey Lands. Covered with lush forests, sprawling plains, and mysterious high mountain peaks, the land has a dual reputation—both as an incomparable Earthly paradise and as a dangerous hell from where sailors never return.

Truth be told, few do return, and their stories seem far too incredible to be true. They tell of castles that float, weightless, in the sky; berries growing in bright forest glens that shrink anyone who eats them to the size of a toadstool; places where water falls up into the sky, collecting in vast aerial lakes, and tumbling from the heavens in cataracts as white as angel’s breath; creatures the size of whales that roam across the fields in herds hundreds strong, and feast on tree-tops with a seemingly infinite capacity for producing new leaves and nutritious shoots. The ravings of adventurers returned from the Fey Lands are usually disregarded as “Fey Madness.” And since none but the fey themselves know how to find their continent, backers are extremely reluctant to finance explorers looking for the land.
